Senior React & Python Developer

Hybrid (remote with occasional travel), Toronto, Canada

Experience: 5 to 7 Years

Role Summary

NearSource is hiring a Senior React & Python Developer to support a high-impact initiative with a Fortune 500 product company. This role involves building scalable web applications and backend services using modern JavaScript frameworks and AWS-native technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable web applications using React and TypeScript
• Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Python in a serverless AWS environment
• Integrate data layers with both SQL and NoSQL sources
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, PMs, and QA engineers
• Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration practices
• Support deployment processes and troubleshoot production issues

Must-Have Skills

• Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern React (hooks, component architecture)
• Proficient in backend development using Python, especially in serverless AWS environments
• Skilled in designing RESTful APIs and integrating with SQL/NoSQL databases
• Familiar with Agile development methodologies and Git version control

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Serverless Framework, AWS CDK, Terraform)
• Familiarity with application monitoring and observability tools

Certifications

• AWS certification is a plus
