The Generator Field Service Technician is responsible for providing on-site and phone troubleshooting, repair, equipment modifications, installation, and sales support of Generac industrial products. This position will require up to 50% travel; fleet vehicle provided. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include working knowledge of mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, and connection diagrams; understanding components and operation of an electrical distribution system; excellent troubleshooting skills, the ability to make independent decisions, and work with minimal supervision; experience in Electronics, Electromechanical Technology; knowledge of power generation; light tower, pumps, and heating products; and Spark Ignited knowledge. The job has multiple levels with varying minimum and preferred qualifications related to education and experience in servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS). Compensation ranges from $25.05 to $69.48 per hour depending on level. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, long-term disability, flexible spending, health savings accounts, paid time off, holidays, overtime opportunity, and 401(k) retirement benefits. Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, use of hands, lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, and compliance with PPE requirements.
